It's your typical underdog story, charming, funny, dramatic, even predictable. Although it uses the 'never-give-up-your-dreams-formula' and many other cliché devices, the film has its heart in the right place.
Itâ??s funny and dramatic when it needs to. Based on a true story and with strong performances by Yasuko Matsuyuki and Yu Aoi, â??Hula Girlsâ?? is not to be missed.
