Review of Hugo (2012) by Lorenzo O — 01 Jan 2015
Extremely delightful and utterly imaginative, âHugoâ? is not simply a movie for kids, but one for film lovers everywhere. Itâ(TM)s beautifully shot, wonderfully original, and might just tug at your heart strings. Aside from a few scenes towards the beginning that seem to drag down the storytelling a bit, thereâ(TM)s hardly anything not to like about this one. Admittedly, I may be a bit biased towards âHugoâ? as I grew up falling in love with the magic of the movies and ultimately chose to become a filmmaker myself. But as well as emphasizing the importance and the magic of the cinema, Martin Scorseseâ(TM)s newest outing is one that should appeal to almost everyone, as well as put a smile on their face.
