Review of Hugo (2012) by Jason K — 31 Jan 2013
A touching, if disjointed love letter to Georges Melies, Hugo manages to balance a film history story with a tale of love and redemption. Scorsese is obviously more comfortable with his story concerning Georges Melies (played by the convincing Ben Kingsley) than he is the main story with the main character, a child, but it doesn't detract from the experience.
Easily worth your time.
