Review of Hugo (2012) by Edd J — 26 Jun 2013
Hugo is another Scorsese great, but it has a pretty noticeable problem: halfway through the movie, the tone and story changes completely. This isnt bad considering the first half is awesome and the second half is wonderful yet doesnt quite reach excellence.
This sudden change halfway is there so Scorsese can talk about the magic of movies, and really, can you blame him for wanting to talk about that?
