Review of Hugo (2011) by Russ V — 31 Aug 2014
Hugo is a unique that can be very entertaining. It does a fine job at making the film look and feel old fashioned. The performances are all great, and the dialogue is interesting. Sometimes it gets a bit long winded, for its a slow story, but the uniqueness and cleverness of it makes this a fun family movie.
The premise is interesting, and the main character is pretty well fleshed out. Unfortunately I didn't care much for the others, aside from one or two side characters. I rely liked the captivating story and interesting premise.
In the end, Hugo is a smartly written and different mystery movie that will keep you interested to watch more. Hugo gets 4/5 stars (B+).
