Review of Hugo (2011) by Mark V — 02 Sep 2013
Delightful romp from Mr. Scorsese. Not one of his usual violence laden tales. The history of Science Fiction/Fantasy Film combined with the artful orphan story borrowed from Dickens brings a nice change and proves that Mr.
Scorsese is a craftsman film maker of the highest caliber. The young actors lend the film a sense of innocence while this is indeed the best role that I have seen Sacha Baron Cohen play ever in his shock comedy career.
Pity he doesn't do more roles with depth as this one. sir Ben Kingsley is his usual magnificence and well suited for this role of an almost forgotten cinematic genius.
