Review of Hudson Hawk (1991) by Andrey A — 08 Oct 2007
This film bombed at the box office, prehaps because audiences were looking to see Bruce Willis in something Die Hard as opposed to something Moonlighting but this film is quite possibly one of the best action comedies ever made.
Bruce Willis' tongue is placed firmly in his cheek and his wry grin sets the tone. Yes it is over the top and yes it is silly but it's also supposed to be. Richard E Grant and Sandra Bergman give manic performances and Andi McDowell hits the right note as the nun/spy with very conflicted feelings for the 'reformed' cat burglar.
The addition of the musical numbers from Bruce and Danny are great and aw hell just go watch it, I'm off to break out my dvd right now.
