Review of Hudson Hawk (1991) by Christophe C — 04 Jan 2011
Had this on my DVR for two years and maybe it should've stayed there. Not difficult to see why this flopped: It's a totally jumbled, not-too-funny comic heist story. Bruce Willis was mired in a bad run of films that ran from Bonfire of the Vanities through Striking Distance.
Here he tries to recapture the wisecracking Moonlighting magic but the script (based on a story co-concocted by Willis) does him no help whatsoever. Richard E. Grant and Sandra Bernhard have fun as scheming aristocrats, but The King of Comedy this is not.
Only two mentions of Hoboken (which is why I recorded this dreck in the first place). Andie MacDowell looks great, anyhow. Whatever happened to her??
