Review of Howl (2010) by Zachary Y — 27 Nov 2012
I guess I would've liked it more if i'd have grown up with Ginsberg as a public figure in the media. I liked the "story scenes"-the courtroom which was word-for-word of the court transcripts was impressively done.
The Ginsberg interveiws for me were hokey and dissonant but effective at giving an understanding of the character. The animations ruined the film, they were not edgy enough and unnecessary. the words of the poetry are vivid enough without pictures, and if there are going to be accompanying cartoons, they need to be extremely edgy.
