Review of Howl (2010) by Kevin C — 31 Mar 2013
An artistic take on the trying and controversial debate surrounding the obscenity trials that nearly stole "Howl" from the world. James Franco seemed very calculated, and he to lose himself in the role at times. The calm, calculated acting on Franco's part helped supplement the text of "Howl", and did not overshadow the poem itself. This is crucial in understanding the message of the film.
It's an odd movie, but definitely worth a watch -- especially for any of you Beatniks our there.
