Review of Howards End (1992) by Dan H — 29 Dec 2008
As English period pieces go, this one satisfies as a lush portrayal of class struggles in Edwardian England around 1910. It isn't Hopkins' most consistent performance, as it is stiff and robotic at times but otherwise a formidable presence.
I haver never seen Thompson give a less than outstanding performance and this is no exception.
