Review of Howards End (1992) by Ani I — 07 Jan 2009
I really didn't like this movie. The acting was good and the sets and costumes were beautiful but the story was not what I expected. I hated Emma Thompson's character because of how she completely lost herself once she got married, but maybe that's how women were in those days; doing what their husbands demanded of them to keep their place in the family.
She didn't even seem to bat an eye when he told her about the house at the end. It was really hard to watch. Helena Bonham Carter's character was the only thing that got me through it.
