Review of Howards End (1992) by Diana L — 14 Dec 2009
I'm not a big fan of James Ivory as a director, but this is one of those films everybody should see, mainly because of the several outstanding performances delivered by that bunch of British actors.
Vanessa Redgrave's work can only be described as quintessential. Emma Thompson, on the other hand, got that wonderful enigmatic sweetness deservedly awarded - well, it's not as if she actually needed a period drama to get an Oscar, she can be as perfect as this in any kind of movie.
