Review of Howard the Duck (1986) by Fwah S — 14 Jan 2009
This movie is one of the unique little treasures from the 80's. Based on the marvel comic of the same name, "Howard The Duck" is cheesey but well shot and keeps you entertained. Howard is a duck from a different planet who is unfortunatley pulled away from his home planet and lands in cleveland. Upon his arrival he meets many unsavory characters but also be friends a local musician played by Lea Thompson. She decides to seek help intrying to return Howard to his home planet by visiting a quirky friend of hers who works in a science museum. Along the way matters are complicated as a threat from a dark overlord of the universe comes to earth. Who can save the planet from destruction? Howard can of course.
This movie is so bad it's awesome and it will probably be the only big screen adventure that Howard will ever see. The story is fun to witness and with some cracking one liners it's nice to know that this little gem is finally on DvD and is Fully Uncut! If you fancy a no brainer that doesn't/can't take it's self seriously then this is the movie for you.
