Review of Howard the Duck (1986) by Nate H — 04 Jul 2010
I made an honest attempt at watching this. I didn't make it all the way through, I don't think - I fell asleep. When a film with a premise as ridiculous as this puts you to sleep, something isn't right.
I don't think my primary problem was with the absurdity of a duck hero, it was with the humans who acted like they were the aliens. Not a bit of honest or relatable human emotion, nor is there apparently much intelligent life on this planet.
Also really cheesy jokes. I understand it gets like weirdly dark or grim or something toward the end, which I suppose could have been interesting, but it also wouldn't have made any sense. Pass.
