Review of Howard the Duck (1986) by James-Masaki R — 01 Aug 2011
Although the filmmakers themselves say it was 'misunderstood' by critics and people always come up to them and say home much they love the movie, they love it for bad reasons. This movie was bad in 1986, and it's still bad today.
It's really difficult who the target audience is. The duck is cute for kids, but with sexual innuendos, (duck tits, duck condoms,Leah Thomson cleavage, etc) and inappropriate behavior, it's more for.
.. teens and adults? But the humor is so childish (like Tim Robbins' character) it just hits all the wrong buttons. And plus, the Howard costume technology was pretty bad, even for 1986. But for a movie to show all the wrong moves, here it is! I'd put it down to Ed Wood level unintentional bad!
