Review of How to Train Your Dragon (2010) by Jiashu X — 17 Jul 2014

All in all, a decent movie. While the opening premises feel cliché and the first half of the film is largely predictable, the film really takes off when Hiccup brings Astrid along on his adventure with him.

And once it's airborne, it really soars with an impressive lead-up into the equally entertaining climax. There isn't much groundbreaking plot-wise or character-wise, but the story has heart and the visuals are spectacular.

This is very much a film that deserves a good sequel or two.
