Although I got around late to watching "How To Train Your Dragon" I was so amazed with the outcome! The makers showed how meticulous they were in the producing of this film. The sound effects were bang on, right to the slightest brush of a hand against a rock. The soundtrack/background score was fantastic and authentic to the Nordic region as the visual appeal of the land created in animation.

Although loosely based of the book of the same name, Dreamworks really did a number by changing the stereotype of people's perception of dragons as the bad guys (ie Sleeping Beauty, Swan Princess) but giving them a new avatar as pets; almost like little puppies - playful, mischievous and loyal.

It's a timeless tale of a boy that tries to show his village a different way of seeing and perceiving. And teaches it's audiences ever so subtly that not everything is as it appears and that change, even within the most stubborn of cultures is possible.

Well done Dreamworks!
