Review of How to Train Your Dragon (2010) by Kendyl C — 24 Sep 2013
Dragon's are like dinosaurs but better. This film feels like it was made by an assembly of the most talented dragon enthusiasts on the planet. The dragon designs are a bit bizarre and cartoonish...
. actually they are DEFINITELY BIZARRE AND VERY CARTOONISH. but that's okay becuase this film earns your trust early enough that you will accept most if not all creative decisions made by it. I dont think any other film has treated dragons with such tenderness and adoration.
I already wished dragons were real before seeing this film and now I'm mad at life because they may not exist. This film is the most thorough iteration of the age old lesson on the misunderstood monster that I have ever seen.
This is not just about cool looking dragons its about being considerate and kind to all life forms even if it means abandoning beloved traditions. Pixar is jealous of this film. THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT! This film proves that Dream works is a serious threat to Disney.
