Review of How to Train Your Dragon (2010) by Ben D — 21 Mar 2015
Surprisingly really good. I never thought a movie based on those books I used to read in elementary school would be worth watching, but who knew? DreamWorks out did themselves with this one. The animation is great, I am really jealous who saw this in the theater, because I bet it looked even more amazing.
The action scenes and the scenes of them flying on dragons were the best parts of the movie and they looked magical. The movie has its humorous side characters, which is normally a bad thing, but here I didn't mind them.
They weren't an overbearing presence and they didn't get a ton of screen time, so they never had to chance to get annoying, which is something I am eternally grateful for. Now, the movie may not be as good as everyone says it is, but I urge you not to let hype get the best of you.
Just go in expecting a fun animated film that works great for adults and kids alike.
