Improving upon the more basic formula and plot of the original, How to train your dragon 2 offers better visuals, a nice focus on story, better narrative balance and more interersting and conflicting characters.

The main villian however is abit lackluster and isnt presented in the best way possible, which is mostly dissapointing considering how awesome and how scaled everything else feels in the movie. Nevertheless, the fun and awesomeness is still abundant and its a sequel that imrpoves upon the originals formula in almost every aspect.
