How to Train Your Dragon 2 proves itself a great sequel, the voice acting is superb and the 3D coupled with the animation continues to excel. However again as often with recent animation this sequel lacks that extra layer to take it from great to excellent.

A change of location more depth or screen time for the villain and more of a middle act all could have been used, not to mention the extremely unlikable "Brit" who stands out as a sore thumb as a poorly conceived and unlikable character.
