Review of How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) by Facundo N — 27 Mar 2015

Tan entretenida y bien escrita como la original, "Cómo Entrenar a tu Dragón 2" continúa contándonos la historia de los grandes personajes que ya conocimos en la anterior, y que aquí siguen desarrollándose de una forma excelente consiguiendo que nos encariñemos con ellos y de verdad nos importe lo que les suceda.

En esta ocasión, una vieja amenaza avanza hacia Berk en la forma de un villano sorprendentemente convincente e intimidante, y nuestros queridos protagonistas deben defender su hogar de la destrucción que dicho enemigo trae consigo. Por el camino ocurren algunas revelaciones (que por desgracia ya nos arruinó el trailer en su momento) y también varios momentos cargados de emociones, los cuales gracias tanto a las excelentes actuaciones de voz, el increíble trabajo de animación como a un guión que se mantiene fiel a cada uno de sus personajes, resultan muy efectivos.

En fin, "Cómo Entrenar a tu Dragón 2" es otra demostración de que algunas aventuras animadas no son "sólo para niños", sino que personas de cualquier edad pueden sumergirse en el mundo de la película y disfrutar a pleno de ella.

Y ahora a esperar con enormes expectativas la siguiente entrega de esta genial franquicia. Felicitaciones DreamWorks, vas bien encaminada.

As entertaining and well written as the original, "How to Train Your Dragon 2" continues telling us the story of the great characters we already met in the previous movie, which here keep been developed in an excellent way, making us genuinely feel for them and care about what happens to them.

On this occasion, an old threat moves towards Berk in the form of a surprisingly convincing and intimidating villain, and our beloved protagonists must defend their home from the destruction that said enemy brings with him. By the road some revelations occur (which unfortunately the trailer already ruined for us) and also several moments full of emotions, which thanks both to the excellent voice acting, amazing animation work and a script that stays faithful to each of its characters, are very effective.

Long story short, "How to Train Your Dragon 2" is another demonstration that some animated adventures are not "just for kids", but people of any age can plunge into the world of the film and fully enjoy it.

And now we wait with great expectations for the next installment of this great franchise. Congratulations DreamWorks, you're on track.
