Review of How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) by Russell Q — 16 Apr 2015
How to Train Your Dragon 2 is a wonderful, magnificent, fantastic, entertaining and heartwarming animated movie that is even better than the first one. Director Dean Deblois, one of the directors of Lilo and Stitch and the first How to Train Your Dragon creates a amazing sequel to a movie filled with heart, hilarity, and visually stunning dragons. Dreamworks Animation has made their greatest film since the first HTTYD and their greatest franchise since Shrek. DeBlois brings author Cressida Cowell's books to life. John Powell, the original score constructor of the first movie returns with more amazing music. The movie is great for all animated movie lovers.
Five years after the events of the first movie, Hiccup (voiced again by Jay Barachel) and the people of Berk are now starting to live with dragons and have fun with them. They even invented a game called Dragon Racing. While flying with his dragon Toothless, Hiccup discovered a whole new world of dragons, and finds the mysterious dragon rider, Valka, (voiced by Cate Blanchett The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Aviator), who is actually his mother that abandon him when he was a baby. Hiccup also finds out that a dragon army is being built by a mean man named Drago Bludvist (voiced by Djimon Hounsou, Blood Diamond)who wants to control all the dragons in the world. It is now up to Hiccup, Toothless, and all of the other good dragons and people to beat Drago and save the people of Berk.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 will make you cry in some parts and make you excited in a lot of parts . How to Train Your Dragon 2 will show you how sequels are supposed to work. How to Train Your Dragon 2 is one of the greatest animated sequels to amazing animated movies. It is the best movie of the year so far.
