Review of How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) by Sylvester K — 24 Apr 2015

While not as good as the predecessor, How to Train Your Dragon 2 lived up the the standard of the first film with impressive visual effects and heart-warming plot. Depending on how you view the story, it can have different effects for people. On one hand it is a story about the tyranny of monarchy and revolution of the anarchist society to protect themselves. On the other hand it's a story about the noble savage where the dragons are kind creatures who wouldn't harm a soul but need to rely on the welfare of the advanced human species.

There are some problems with the script: 1. The love triangle which was underdeveloped and not funny at all. 2. The parents not listening to their children joke is running old. 3. Hiccup being a complete idiot throughout the film. While enjoyable for most people, a keen eye can see the film could have been improved.
