How to Train Your Dragon 2 is an amazing movie, its themes fleshed out with rare articulation and its art direction rich with creativity and scope unseen outside of Pixar's best. But holy shit, the animation -- its depth and texture, specifically -- perhaps unparalleled by anything prior.
This is a masterclass in animated film work.
