Review of How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) by Faii C — 06 Dec 2014
An amazing film! All the 4 times I watched it in the cinema and another one I have just done via DVD, I enjoy this film so much. I think the plot is focused on the development or growth of the main characters.
At the beginning, you can see that Hiccup and his friend had grown up from the first film a lot but still had many childlike characteristics. However, things happening though out the film changed them. They had seen the parts of the world that wasn't so good and realised being childishly super optimistic would not do they any good. Still, they didn't change into completely evil people, it's an animation after all. They understood the world as it be but, at the same time, managed to keep the goodness in themselves. They didn't hunt the villain down, right? I think that is the main point the film tries to tell us.
Moreover, there were many scenes about relationships which are all good in my opinion, touching, reasonable and not too much. The soundtracks suit the film very well. The graphic is flawless. Some scenes may be a bit boring but they happened for acceptable reasons.
