Review of How to Survive a Plague (2012) by Joshua C — 03 Mar 2013
Mind-boggling, profound, powerful, and deeply emotional are some of the words I would use to describe this documentary about AIDS; juggling every aspect of once-deadly disease that affected overwhelmingly numerous number of people was quite well done, for instance, the social part of it, with the demonstrations and movements surrounding it, and the science bit, that is, the long way to the treatment, and the human part of it, people who led, the loved ones who passed away along the way, people who have to pick up the pieces and keep their shit together to make a difference, not only for their own sake, but for many many more who they don't even know yet are affected by the disease.
It just reminds you once more that you, a mere individual, can make a difference in this world, with right tools and attitude, and of course, persistence.
