Review of How to Steal a Million (1966) by Shonda S — 23 Aug 2007
Oh, just too cute for words. Definitely designed as a showcase for Audrey Hepburn (there's even a great line about Givenchy having a night off when she has to dress as a charwoman). Some clever one-liners have been handed to O'Toole, and he delivers them with his usual aplomb.
But overall the pacing is slow and there is a lamentable lack of plot twists for a structure that absolutely begs for them. I think Wyler might've tossed this off rather quickly as an excuse to spend a few months living it up in Paris.
Still... worth watching for the enjoyable romp it is.
