Review of How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) by Dominic D — 11 Mar 2008
Nobody can deliver lines like Marilyn Monroe. Although Bacall does a great job as the group's ringleader, it's Monroe who steals the show with great lines delivered in her unique style. The story's a little too twisted/twisty to hold up to much scrutiny, but what you're getting from this movie is glamorous fun.
Now I certainly think it could've used a little more of that, but I just might be unreasonable in comparing this one to superior movies like The Seven Year Itch and Some Like It Hot. This one's still very enjoyable on its own terms.
