I like Simon Pegg. Spaced was genius. He was great in Star Trek. But he must have done this one for the money - its thinly sketched caricature at best and the character he plays is frankly, odious. But this shouldn't tarnish his rep - we all need to pay the mortgage.
But don't rent it. Its dire.
