Review of How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) by Christopher J — 12 Jan 2010
The story is disjointed and full of inconsistencies despite having a potentially strong concept and characters in place. It is difficult to portray someone gradually falling in love in a 2 hour move without jumping around too quickly â?? but, it can be done as long as scenes are meaningful and you avoid jumping through scenes sporadically.
Unfortunately, the same holds true for all the magazine career scenes too. This all leads me to believe the story works better as a novel than a film. In the end, I never really felt the magic between Sidney (Pegg) and his one true love.
Pegg does have his moments, but Bridges is too much and Dunst is too little.
