Review of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) by Marcus G — 02 Mar 2011
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days is an enjoyable romp following the two leads, Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey as they both embark on their own missions. She is out to demonstrate how to lose a guy in 10 days by making all the mistakes that women make to put off men, whilst he, to prove that he can make a woman fall in love with him, in order to prove his worthiness to run a diamond advertising campaign.
Basically, this is the same s***, different day. Most of these rom-comâ(TM)s play out with same plot structure, whilst the producers simply change the details to suit. They meet, lie to each other, meet the family and suddenly fall in love, get exposed as the liars that they are and make up in the end.
Seen it! But thatâ(TM)s not say that it is not fun whilst it is happening, if it is done well. This was more than acceptable, but nothing special; Though McConaugheyâ(TM)s predilection to taking his shirt off whenever possible, might be majorly irritating to everyone, but at least itâ(TM)s good for a laugh.
