I just recently watched this on HBO with my boys 6 & 8 and I liked how many teachable moments there were in the movie. Apparently it is based on a book - though I have never read it. It deals with a lot of different topics surrounding friendship etc.
in a non-preachy type manner. Sportsmanship, bullying, being bossy - confiding in parents, adults, having friends who are "cool" or not. Learning to work together the value of teamwork. I really enjoyed the movie and found it to be quite funny and touching and both of my boys seemed to thoroughly enjoy it as well.
