Review of How to Eat Fried Worms (2006) by Ben D — 19 Sep 2007
I was really scepctic about the idea of this movie but childlike as I am decided to give it a chance and really, I had lots of fun watching this.
Such a silly, sincere and entertaining look into the world of 11-year old boys, the attitudes, cruelty, believes, friendship, honesty and brotherhood.
My favorite character though, was absolutely Billy's 5-year old little brother, Woody. Aw man, that kid made me laugh in every scene he was in. Such a wonderful character and the kid chosen for it. He was the best "acto"r in this movie as he didn't seem to be even trying, he just...was probably doing the things he was asked to and memorized his dialogs and was just a perfectly natural child.
I mean, there are some awesome child actors and their performances but they always were clearly in a role. With this kid you could actually forget that you're watching someone playing a character in a movie.
If you're not interested in this movie - then please, just watch this once just for the little kid, Billy's little brother. He'll steal your heart in seconds.
