Review of How the West Was Won (1962) by Jason H — 23 Jun 2009
One of the last great, epic westerns. It is beautifully shot and finally looks great on home video. The Cinerama effect has always looked poorly on home video. The latest releases finally do the film justice.
The cast is full of the genre's greatest stars. Debbie Reynolds and Gregory Peck stand out to me most of all. The story is familiar and doesn't quite live up to visuals but not too many storys can live up to the grand cinerama landscape! Great movie.
