Review of How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) by Christopher S — 11 Dec 2013
As a kid growing up I loved this film, but now as an adult I still enjoying watching the masterful performance by the one and only Jim Carrey. Jim is cloaked in make-up and is hardly noticeable still manages to literally "steal" the show.
As for everything else it is a safe and fun film for the family to sit and not worry about profanity, or anything else like that. This film does have it's problems, there is no denying that. Some props are plastic-looking, some of the dialog is unnecessary, and everyone else's acting is mediocre to bad.
The movie ended some of their careers in a way. Shannon, Irwin, Momsen, and Baranski, haven't been in much since then. So as a whole great job by Carrey, bad sets, bad dialog, and bad acting by everyone else.
But don't hesitate to pop this in for this Christmas season. Or otherwise the cartoon may be a better solution.
