Review of How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) by Lauren F — 25 Dec 2014
Not all that bright and colorful, but it still has the same basic classic story. Jim Carry is of course great and hilarious in this feature, but in a sense, he tends to make the classic character look almost like a fool.
The town of Whoville is alright and most of the other characters are okay for the most part. Some scenes may have been a bit disturbing at times and of course the Grinch's home looks like a mess (although it does of course define himself and that part of the story well enough).
I don't know about the Grinch himself, but Cindy Lou Who is certainly one pretty memorable character. Overall the film may feel a little dull and like a drag, but it's still a pretty good laugh, and the ending brings good enough heart plus making it feel like a good classic the most.
Fairly enjoyable.
