Review of How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998) by Roxanne R — 12 Mar 2009

I found the plot quite interesting- a successful, wealthy and attractive 40 year old woman finds herself very attracted to a 20 year old man. He meets her in Jamaica during a vacation and she is surprised to notice that the young man is flirting with her and very attracted to her.

From that point on the friendship develops into an affair, then a long lasting relationship with its ups and downs as Stella and her new man break age taboos and prove to everyone around them that they can make it work.

Personally I would have a hard time marrying a man 20 years younger than me because I don't believe we may have much in common however; a 30 year old man- u bet! With a good cast (especially Whoppi Goldberg and Regina King) this movie will make you cheer for Stella and gives many of us hope that we will find our dream man despite generational gaps! Two thumbs up!
