Review of How It Ends (2018) by Carter G — 05 Aug 2018
It was on okay movie, the acting was okay, the storyline/concept of the movie was interesting, but there was no end resolution. It's mediocre, though if the intent of the movie was to make the viewers etnernally wonder, this could be rated differently.
Unfortunately there is nothing to truly make it feel as though the movie has ended in a sense, and the last 30 minutes just seem like they ran out of money and let the cast improvise their lines. There is no explanation as to the cause of the disasters, nor any explanation as to why the neighbor had gone through Will's car, extensive hinting at the fact he and Will's fiancée had engaged in intercourse, no true reasoning as to why the explosion at the end occurred, Will's strange anger regarding the neighbor's theory as to what happened, and it leaves me in confusion.
I would love to have been given more information, but it's not as though the movie makes me crave answers, it just disappointed me, and even if a sequel was entirely based around all my questions, I likely wouldn't even waste my time on it.
Overall it was a decent movie, enjoyable to watch as a time-killer, but not if you want to truly enjoy a movie. I wouldn't watch it again nor would I recommend it to anyone, but if you're scrolling through Netflix aimlessly trying to find a movie to watch in the background or want a little mystery in your night, then this could be the movie for you.
