Review of How I Live Now (2013) by Jamie S — 05 Oct 2013
A young American girl (Ronan) comes to England to stay with relatives just as World War III starts to kick off. The English countryside provides the back-drop to this teen drama, sometimes beautiful and sometimes forbidding, but while this looks like a great film there's something missing.
Ronan is superb, and delivers a strong central performance, but her relationship with Edmund comes across as too shallow and undeveloped to be a believable motive for what happens in the final act.
