There was a bit of eye rolling when my wife noticed this movie on the Netflix queue. I have to admit - I loved LOVED this movie when I was about 16. Director "Savage" Steve Holland, he of "Better Off Dead.
" Mr. Holland never saw an obvious he didn't put in his movies Underachieving protagonist mooning after a girl -- I felt I could identify. The humor is, as I noted, obvious, but hey, it was 1989 -- irony and sarcasm where just starting to make a comeback.
Can't say the movie has aged well, though it still has its strengths. Short, sweet, and upbeat.
