Review of How High (2001) by Ed K — 13 Oct 2017
It's a movie about two stoners who smoked a special weed that got them into Harvard, I don't know what anyone could have been expecting aside from a bad movie. This is exactly what you'd expect it to be, and that's not necessarily a good thing.
It's definitely something you watch with a group of friends, and I definitely think that would enhance the movie! This has a decent cast that all give pretty good performances, but they're not given much to work with, obviously! Mike Epps was really good, as usual! This was one of his better, or I guess maybe just more interesting, roles! I think the direction made this a bit better, because he went on to direct one of my personal favorites, American Wedding, and an alright ok movie, Kicking & Screaming.
It's definitely also pretty weird that this guy, the director, is Bob Dylan's son! This isn't a good movie, but if you wanna watch with friends, I think I'd say it's more than watchable.
I also might wanna watch it again at some point, which is why I'd overall put it in my guilt pleasures list!
