Review of How Green Was My Valley (1941) by Dimitris R — 26 Jul 2007
While there is too much talk about the "unfair" oscar win against Citizen Kane, I can gladly admit that this is a pretty good choice for "US movie of 1941" and that this was also a close call.
What an explicit representation of various situations, of poverty, of everydayness, of change beyond time and of pure love once again. Ford is one of a kind in description of "home", "long-lasting yet never expressed feelings" and his photography is always pure magic..
