Set in Ireland, but filmed in California due to WW2, this stands out as one of John Ford?s most memorable films and actually beat out Citizen Kane for best picture in 1941. The movie covers a wide range of subjects that affected the Irish working class in the late 19th century and is quite entertaining with many moving moments.
