This is a case where the likability of the cast really makes what is a bit of an overlong and overly complicated film work as well as it does. I liked this FAR better than "As Good As It Gets" and "Spanglish" and will admit it's not the best work from writer/director James L.
Brooks but at least I felt emotionally involved and liked most of the characters.
