How Do You Know only has two things that works for it and that's Reese Witherspoon and Paul Rudd. Their chemistry and charm helps the film survive the number one cliche that makes romantic comedies bad and that's resorting to having a clumsy lead character.
You know a film has ran out of ideas when a character falls down the stairs while talking on the phone for example. What the film also doesn't have going for it is that it manages to waste the talent of Jack Nicholson in a role anyone could have played.
