This is a big budget and costing romantic comedy with a great talented cast. On paper this might had all the right ingredients for comedy gold, a new 'As Good As It Gets' but for a romantic comedy it's certainly missing some comic and romance. Despite brave performances from the leads, particularly Witherspoon, who is breathtakingly adorable throughout - it remains, for the most part, annoyingly out of reach.
Not James L. Brooks' best work, it has its moments, although if you haven't seen 'Devil Wears Prada', 'Bride Wars' or 'Shopaholic' go rent these instead.
