James Brooks has put out some great films and written some of the best lines in the modern era. He seems to do well in the writing department, but the filming seems a bit clunky and it is hard to connect with the characters.
I liked Paul Rudd and Reese Witherspoon, but there seemed to be a lack of passion. I like Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson, but they seemed to play charactures of themselves opposed to a role. So, this one is a miss for me.
If you watch it, paul Rudd has the best lines in the film. Enjoy the writing, even though it is hard to follow the film.
