Witherspoon, Nicholson, Wilson, and the eminently likeable Rudd all flounder in this terrible, terrible waste of time and talent. The first hour is completely flat, and one wonders how James L. Brooks and the producers could have put this out there in all good conscience.
The sort of film that they spend waaaay too much on, makes very little money and could be a career killer. What were they thinking when they signed up to this?
